Gemma the Bartender and Manager Wayne were very friendly. The customers included myself and my colleague in conversation and were great to chat to. Very welcoming vibe. Nice selection of beers on tap. The room and bedding were clean. I found the bed comfortable and the price for a twin room at £55 for our stay was great! It was my first time staying there but my staff have stayed there 3 times over the past 12 months and asked to be booked into the Grey Horse after their first stay. We will definitely be back!

A superb little B&B and handily located close to the town centre. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and just perfectly sized for me. I had a bite to eat whilst I was there, and although it was only pizza and fries, it was very tasty and flavoursome. I would definitely book to stay here again!

I only stayed here one night while travelling to Northumberland, a Saturday. Very reasonably priced. Nice room, above bar. No complaints there. Venue has its own off road car park. Food in the bar was very good and staff were likewise. Asked whether it was safe area around the venue, I cannot say, I only stayed one night and I was aware of no issues.

Lovely pub on the outskirts of Darlington, we had a family room for me and my son, it was spacious and very clean and the shower was very good.

Gorgeous staff. Food just downstairs, parking just out the back. Absolutely loved the room - curved bay window opening to leafy trees. And the shower? Heaven. When you are travelling around a good shower is a plus. This shower however earns 5 stars on it’s own.

The grey horse staff were fantastic for me! I had been in contact before to say that I was passing through Darlington on a charity bike ride. The staff arranged and marketed a brilliant fundraising evening for me, raising way over £200 for the charity, plus also getting to engage with the community. The downstairs bar was lovely, busy and friendly. The rooms were great too and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or atleast pop in for a drink if I am ever in the area again

The room was well sized , very clean and in a nice location. The staff was very good and very helpful. A beautiful local church was the image that greeted you on your way to the Grey Hoarse as well as on your way to the city centre. A quick place with were you can get a sense of the way that the people of Darlington have fun, laugh, discuss and support each other in times of need.

Came with my partner and her family to visit my mum who lives in Darlington fair play the staff and customers was really welcoming and friendly The pub/Hotel is actually in a quite location with everything local to it we'd definitely stay again

Really lovely welcoming bar, staff were so friendly, especially the lady who checked us in and the entertainment on the night was brilliant. The room was quite small but had everything you needed, the bed was very comfortable, we both slept very well.

I booked 2 rooms, one double and a family room. The family room was spacious with a double and single beds. The double was small but adaquate for what we needed. Both were clean, fresh linen and towels. Tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival staff were friendly, gave us advise on were to eat etc and were able to answer all our questions. We stayed one night whilst at Croft racing circuit
